Watertown-Mayer Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Long-Term Substitute Preschool Teacher to join our preschool team for Fall 2026, working with three-year-olds. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a highly recognized, play-based learning environment that values each child’s individual strengths, interests, and needs.
Your Role Will Include:
- Design and lead engaging, play-based learning experiences that foster growth in literacy, math, science, social-emotional development, and physical skills.
- Create a classroom environment where exploration thrives and every child feels safe, included, and excited to learn.
- Observe and assess each child’s developmental progress through ongoing documentation and reflection.
- Celebrate milestones with families and use insights to tailor instruction to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate student growth effectively with families.
- Build strong, positive partnerships with families.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute innovative ideas to enhance our preschool program.
- Apply effective classroom management strategies to ensure a respectful, positive learning environment.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, and safety requirements.
- Participate in ongoing professional learning to continuously refine your instructional practice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting diverse families, including those facing challenges.
- Cultural and linguistic competency with strong communication skills.
- Effective classroom management skills.
- Experience in educational settings and familiarity with modern instructional tools and technology.
Salary and Benefits:
- Per Master Agreement, Starting at $115 per day
Location & Shift Times:
- Location, Watertown-Mayer Community Learning Center.
- Schedule, Part-time, 3 days per week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday).
- Hours, 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
- Assignment Dates, August 24 – November 16, 2026.
Additional substitute opportunities may be available within the district.
